Cheap and (sometimes) cheerful

A big thank you to the American book dealer, who requested a trade discount on a 50p book, and that it be sent at cost, as they didn't agree with making money on postage.

Sadly I don't agree with selling to them - so the book has been thrown away !!!

At the end of a successful exhibition, while I was taking down and packing work, a man once asked me if he could have a discount now that the show was over and some of the work obviously hadn't sold. I laughed and told him that the prices only went one way, and that was up, to which he then inquired if I managed to make a living. Maybe not by his standards I thought, but sufficient to my own needs. Maybe he is a distant relation of your bookdealer in the USA.
